Two-time leader rider: 2015 Spring Meet with 22 wins and 2016 Spring Meet with 17 wins.

Rode Rushing Fall to two stakes victories in 2018: Appalachian (G2) Presented by Japan Racing Association during the Spring Meet and Queen Elilzabeth II Challenge Cup Presented by Lane's End (G1) during the Fall Meet.

Third 2018 stakes win came on Rated R Superstar in the Ben Ali (G3) during the Spring Meet.

Won three stakes at Keeneland on Oct. 30, 2015, during the first day of the Breeders’ Cup World Championships: Breeders’ Cup Distaff (G1) on Stopchargingmaria, Las Vegas Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile (G1) on champion Liam’s Map and Bryan Station on Tweet Kitten.

Won four stakes during the 2015 Spring Meet: Maker's 46 Mile (G1) on Jack Milton, Jenny Wiley (G1) on Ball Dancing, Ben Ali (G3) on Protonico and Transylvania (G3) Presented by Keeneland Select on Night Prowler.

Won three races on April 10, 11, 18, 19 and 22 during the 2015 Spring Meet.

Won three stakes during the 2014 Spring Meet: Jenny Wiley (G1) on Hard Not to Like, Beaumont (G2) Presented by Keeneland Select on Ready to Act and Dixiana Elkhorn (G2) on Unitarian.

Javier followed his late father, Abel, and an uncle into racing in Venezuela in 1996. He came to the U.S. in June 1997. Brother Abel Jr. rode 1,849 winners in North America during his career. Javier's father-in-law is Terry Meyocks, national director of the Jockeys’ Guild.

Javier is Vice Chairman of the Jockeys' Guild Board of Directors for 2019-2020.
